BOULDER CITY, Nev. (Oct. 28, 2019) – The Wyoming women's golf team wrapped up the second day of competition at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown on Monday afternoon at the par-72, 6,277-yard Boulder Creek Golf Club.
"Unfortunately, we made mistakes that were tough to recover from today," head coach
Josey Stender said. "We are a better team than we've shown and I know they have the confidence and resilience to come back tomorrow."
The Cowgirls ended the second round with a 32-over 320 to follow up a first-round 313 to wind up with a 36-hole total of 633. UNLV jumped up three spots and is the clubhouse leader heading into the final round at 16-over 592. The Rebels Elina Saksa leads individually as the only player under par at 4-under 140 for the event.
Senior
Kaylee Knadler was the low Cowgirl on the day. She shot a 7-over 79 for a two day combined total of 11-over 155 to sit in a tie for 43
rd. Fellow senior
Erin Sargent also carded a second day 7-over 79. She has a 36-hole total of 13-over 157, which is tied for 57
th.
Junior
Caitlyn Skavdahl followed up her first round 3-over 75 to shoot a 12-over 84. Skavdahl has a two day total 15-over 159.
Sophomores
Cristiana Ciasca and
Michelle Nguyen both sit with a two day total of 22-over 166. Ciasca shot a second round 10-over 82 while Nguyen carded an 8-over 80.
The Cowgirls will close out the fall season tomorrow with 18-holes. It will be a shotgun start beginning at 9 a.m. MT.
