LAKEWOOD, Wash. (Oct. 15, 2019) – The Wyoming Golf Team finished up play at Seattle Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational on Tuesday at the Tacoma Golf and Country Club.
The Cowgirls carded a final round total of 17-over 305, which tied for the best round of the week, to close out the tournament. Wyoming finished 15
th with a three day combined score of 52-over 916 (306-305-205). Gonzaga took home the title with a four-under 860, while the individual winner was Quynn Duong (Gonzaga) with a combined score of seven-under 209.
Wyoming was led by sophomore
Cristiana Ciasca, who finished tied for 38
th. Following rounds of 76 and 73, she carded a final round five-over 78. She had a three day total of 11-over 227.
Senior
Erin Sargent and junior
Caitlyn Skavdahl finished in a tie for 57
th. Sargent turned in a final round of five-over 77 for a 231 (76-78-77). Skavdahl had a final round of seven-over 79 for a combined score of 231 (77-75-79.
"We had a great round going and gave ourselves more birdie opportunities today, but came up short at the end," head coach
Josey Stender said. "We will see yet another tough field on a different style of course at UNLV. We have to prepare to be competitive."
Sophomore
Samantha Hui shot her low round of the tournament on Tuesday with a four-over 76 to place 64
th. She completed her tournament with a three day total of 16-over 232. Fellow sophomore
Michelle Nguyen turned in her tournament-best with a final round of two-over 74. She finished the event with a 21-over 237.
The Cowgirls will wrap up the 2019 fall season on Sunday, Oct. 27 at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown. The three-day event is scheduled to take place at the Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nev.
