LAS VEGAS (Feb. 26, 2018) – Junior Megan Knadler paced the Brown and Gold on Monday during the first two rounds of play at the Rebel Beach Invitational. Knadler, who is tied for 14th, shot a 77 (+5) during the first round before signing for a season-best 73 (+1) in the second. She totaled four birdies throughout the day, with three in the second round.

"I am very proud of Megan (Knadler) and her solid play on a tough golf course today," Cowgirl head coach Josey Stender said. "As a team, we got off to a shaky start. Unfortunately, there is little room for error on this course. Considering the tough weather conditions, our round this afternoon was much better. I believe we have the caliber of team to compete in a national ranked event like this one, but we need all five players to show up to compete tomorrow."

UW sits in a tie for 11th place with a two-round total of 621 (+45). The Brown and Gold turned in scores of 312 (+24) and 309 (+21) from the Spanish Trail Country Club (par 72, 6,380 yards) in Las Vegas.

Redshirt sophomore Kaylee Knadler opened the event with a 73 (+1), which tied her career-best round and was also the team best score during the morning round. During the afternoon round, she posted an 83 (+10) and enters the final round tied for 48th of the 71-player field with a 156 (+12).

Sophomore Erin Sargent is tied for 55th after a first-round 82 (+10), followed by a solid 77 (+5) in the second round. She is just a few shots back of Kaylee Knadler with a 159 (+15) after the first day. Senior Gabrielle Gibson is tied for 61st after rounds of 80 (+8) and 82 (+10), respectively. Redshirt freshman Caitlyn Skavdahl is one shot back of Gibson with a total 164 (+20). Skavdahl opened with an 87 (+15) before storming back with a 77 (+5) during the second round. Junior Sarah Hankins rounds out the Cowgirls with a two-round mark of 170 (+26).

UNLV leads the 12-team field after the opening day with a two-round total of 590 (+14). Clara Avenlig of Kennesaw State and Kendra Dalton of BYU are sitting tied for first with a 144 (E) with one round remaining.

The final round of the Rebel Beach concludes tomorrow morning at the Spanish Trail Country Club with the final 18 holes set to begin at 9:30 a.m. MT. Live scoring can be found using the link above.
