STANFORD, Calif. – Wyoming men's golf concluded its three-day
tournament at the Stanford Golf Course tied for 14th out of 24 teams with a final
score of 883 (+43). Senior Ryan Wallen and junior Drew McCullough, who tied for
13th, were Wyoming's top individual finishers.
The Cowboys shot 296 (+16) as a
team today, their highest round of the tournament after scores of 294 (+4) and
293 (+3) on Thursday and Friday.
Wallen and McCullough each shot 73
(+3) today to finish the weekend with scores of 214 (+4). McCullough carded his
third eagle of the tournament, one of only two players to record three eagles.
He ended the tournament 10 under on par 5 holes, the best of any individual.
The pair finished ahead of seven players ranked in the NCAA top 50, and tied
with Oregon's Wyndham Clark who is currently the top-ranked golfer in the
nation.
Junior Glenn Workman and sophomore John Murdock also shot matching scores with rounds of 75 (+5). Murdock finished
tied for 93rd with a score of 228 (+18), while Workman tied for 114th with a 232
(+22). Junior Quintin Pope carded an 80 (+10) to tie for 116th at 233 (+23).
The Cowboys will be back in action
on April 10 at the Whirlwind Golf Club in Chandler, Ariz., where UW will host
the Wyoming Cowboy Classic.
