2016-17 (Junior): Pope played in nine of the Cowboys’ 11 events, averaging 77 strokes per round over 26 rounds. His best finish came at the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational, where he tied for 36th place with a score of 217 (+1). He shot 71 (-1) in each of the first two rounds at the tournament, which tied for his low rounds of the season. In the classroom, Pope was named Academic All-Mountain West.
2015-16 (Sophomore): Quintin Pope played in all ten tournaments for UW during his sophomore campaign. He averaged 75 strokes after playing in 33 rounds. He opened the season with a three-round total 218 (+2) to share 22nd place at the USAF Gene Miranda Invitational. His top finish came at the BYU Cougar Classic, as he tied for 11th with a 213 (+3). At the Cowboys Southern Dunes tournament, Pope tied for 15th after recording a 219 (+3). He competed in his first conference tournament this season, and he tied for 54th at the 2016 MW Championship. Pope shot a 234 (+18) to close out his season.
2014-15 (Freshman): Pope played in all but one event for the Cowboys during his first season. He recorded his first collegiate top-25 finish at the Battle in the Tetons where he golfed as an individual. He finished as the top Cowboy in sixth place with a total score of 214 (-2). Pope worked his way into the lineup for the rest of the season after his debut at the Battle in the Tetons, and recorded his career-low score of 69 (-3) during the final round of the BYU Ping Cougar Classic. He finished the tournament with a score of 230 (+14) in 53rd place. He finished the season with a stroke average of 76.7 after playing 32 rounds.
High School: Quintin Pope joins the Cowboys as a four-year letterwinner at East High School in Cheyenne. He had an outstanding prep career under head coach Paul Hartigan. Pope placed in the top 20 at the state tournament all four years of high school. Pope earned All-State honors in 2012 and 2013 for the Thunderbirds. He was also an All-Conference selection and Team Player of the Year three times. Pope was named the Lew Lepore Player of the Year. He also excelled on the basketball court earning All-Conference Honorable Mention.
Personal: He is the son of Matt and Karen Pope. He was born on May 18, 1996 and majors in Management at UW.
