DENVER, Colo. – Wyoming men's and women's swimming each placed second at the DU Relays on Saturday at the El Pomar Natatorium.
The Cowgirls won two of the day's 11 women's races to finish with 822 points behind first-place Denver with 1,058 points. The UW women won the 3x500 freestyle relay with a time of 15:25.84, swam by freshman

Kelly Sheldon. The Cowgirls then won the 400 freestyle relay, the final women's race of the day, finishing in 3:30.45. The lineup consisted of Sheldon, freshman Hannah McLean-Leanord, senior

"It went pretty well for us, and we had some young talent emerge for us," UW head coach
Dave Denniston said. "I thought we had some really good stuff on the women's side and especially by our freshman class. On the men's side, we saw some good things from team captain
Wade Nelson.
Liam Holt really stood out as well, and other upperclassmen did a really nice job."
The Cowboys also placed second with two race victories, finishing with 802 points behind Denver with 1,130 points. The men finished first in the 3x100 butterfly relay with a time of 2:30.72 by senior

Liam Holt finishing in 2:51.88. UW also placed second and third in the 200 mixed medley relay with times of 1:40.15 and 1:40.39.
Wyoming swimming and diving will compete in its first dual next Saturday against the Denver Pioneers at the Laramie High School. Competition is set to begin at 1 p.m. MT.
