LARAMIE, Wyo. – Cowgirl swimming and diving fell to the Boise State Broncos on Friday evening at Laramie High School by a score of 173-127. Wyoming claimed first place in five of the dual's 16 events.  

Junior Maria Harutjunjan led the way for the Cowgirls with two individual victories and a relay victory. Wyoming kicked off the dual with a team of sophomore Isobel Ryan, sophomore Samantha Burke, Harutjunjan and senior Danielle Badger winning the 200 medley relay. Harutjunjan later raced to victory in the 100 breaststroke (1:02.90) and the 200 breaststroke (2:18.29). Freshman Daniela Luna Rocha secured a win in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 10:28.09 and placed second in the 500 freestyle, clocking in at 5:02.70.

On the boards, freshman Karla Contreras once again lifted the Cowgirls with a win in the 1-meter event, scoring a career-best 305.55. Senior Keely Bishop and sophomore Peyton GrandPre rounded out the top-three on the 1-meter, scoring 267.23 and 253.95, respectively. Contreras also placed second in the 3-meter event, missing first place by less than two points despite not scoring on one of her six dives.

The Cowgirls have a quick turnaround, competing tomorrow in Fort Collins, Colo., against rival Colorado State. The Border War matchup with the Rams is slated to begin at 12 p.m. MT.
