Appeared in 10 matches and made four starts in the spring of 2021. Tallied 62 kills while hitting .237. Cyza’s 2.21 kills per set ranked third-best on the Cowgirls. Had 10 total blocks and 71 points on the season.

Emersen Cyza had a solid rookie campaign for the Cowgirls, appearing in 14 matches and 36 sets in 2019 · Cyza recorded 73 kills for an average of 2.03 per set, the fifth-most on the team · Cyza also recorded 19 blocks on the year · Cyza recorded a career-high 13 kills and 14.5 points in the match at Colorado State (10/29) · She had a career-best four total blocks and a pair of aces at Creighton (9/21) and eight digs in the win at Nevada (11/21) · Cyza was a Mountain West All-Academic Team honoree.

Emersen Cyza hails from Alliance High School in Alliance, Neb., where she was a four-year letterwinner in volleyball, and also lettered in basketball and track • Has proven herself to be a difference-maker on the court, being named MVP of her high school team all four years • Was named the the NE Preps Class B All-State Second Team as a junior and to the All-Western Conference team as a junior and senior • As a junior, she was also named to the Scottsbluff Star Herald All-Region First team, while being named the Star Herald All-Region Player of the Year and honorable mention All-State by the Omaha World Herald  • Her school's record holder for kills in a single season (508), she was named to the Alliance Times Herald Terrific Twelve as a freshman, sophomore and junior, and earned All-Tournament honors at the Twin City Invite each of the last two seasons • Helped lead her team to three district runner-up finishes before they earned the district title her senior year to qualify for state • She is a standout academically as well, being named to the Honor Roll all four years and participating in Key Club as a senior.

Was born January 6, 2001 in Scottsbluff, Neb. • Parents are Jim and Pam Cyza • Also enjoys taking pictures and being outside • Plans to major in Education at UW.
