High School: Fothergill is a midfielder from Falcon, Colorado. She played for Falcon High School and club for Pride ECNL and Colorado Rush ECNL. Fothergill missed some time for her high school because of injury. She earned first-team all-conference recognition as a sophomore and second-team honors as a freshman. In club, Fothergill was a four-year captain and a two-time second-team all-conference honoree for Pride. She also competed in the National Selection Game and was a U.S. National ID Camp invite. 

Personal: Fothergill's parents are Michelle and Wade. She also has a brother, Max, and a sister, Emy. Fothergill plans to major in speech pathology.
