Biography

FIFTH YEAR (2022-23): Was named to the All-Mountain West Singles Team for the fourth time during her illustrious career. Became just the third Cowgirl in program history to be a four-time All-Mountain West honoree. Played exclusively at the No. 1 and 2 singles spots and recorded eight wins in the spring, including five during conference action. Went 13-8 in doubles play along with her partner, Violetta Borodina, including winning six during MW play. Was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-America Third Team. Was just the second student-athlete in program history to receive the honor. Finishes her career with 64 singles wins and 60 doubles victories. Those 64 singles wins are tied for the 10th-most in program history while her 60 doubles victories are ninth all-time in UW history.

SENIOR (2021-22): Was named to the All-Mountain West Singles Team for the third consecutive season. Oreshkina became just the third Cowgirl in program history to be named All-MW for a third time. Playing exclusively at the No. 1 singles spot in conference play, Oreshkina went 5-2 in league play, including recording four against fellow all-league honorees. Had 15 singles wins overall in 2021-22 and had 13 doubles wins. Recorded 12 dual doubles wins along with partner Ida Krause at the No. 1 doubles spot this spring, including grabbing four conference wins. Closes year four of her Cowgirl career with 55 singles wins and 46 doubles victories. The 55 singles wins are 18th in program history.

JUNIOR (2021): Named to the All-Mountain West Singles Team for the second consecutive season. Recorded eight singles victories in 2021 and went 4-4 during Mountain West play, playing almost exclusively at the No. 1 position. Three of Oreshkina’s conference victories came against fellow all-conference honorees. Went 8-8 during doubles play, all at the No. 1 spot along with partners Noesjka Brink and Lucia Malinak. Had three league victories in doubles competition.

SOPHOMORE (2019-20): Named to the All-Mountain West Singles Team in 2020 … was also named to the All-MW Doubles Team as well, along with partner Oleksandra Balaba …. two-time Mountain West Female Tennis Athlete of the Week in the spring … played exclusively at No. 1 singles in the spring, posting a mark of 8-4 … went 13-7 in singles play overall during 2019-20 … boasted a mark of 13-5 in doubles play throughout the year, including a 6-3 record in duals along with partner Oleksandra Balaba … played in the singles bracket at the ITA All-Americas in October.

FRESHMAN (2018-19): She began her career with a 6-5 singles record during the fall. Her first career victory came against Kirtana Bhat of Central Oklahoma. Had a four match winning streak in the fall. In doubles action, she went 3-5 with two different playing partners. Completed her freshman campaign with a 19-12 overall mark, while going 13-7 in dual play at the number three spot. She also went 4-1 in league play. Had a six match winning streak during the spring. In doubles, she went 12-13 overall and 9-8 in dual action. She and Ana Royo went 9-9 overall.

HIGH SCHOOL: She is ranked amongst the Top 100 Senior Women’s players in Russia. In September, she won a G5 doubles tournament in Sozopol, Bulgaria.

PERSONAL: Born September 21, 2000 in Moscow, Russia. She is the daughter of Vladimir and Marina Oreshkina. Has two siblings, Nikolay and Elena. Majoring in environmental systems science.
