LARAMIE, Wyoming (8/30/26) – The University of Wyoming soccer team celebrated its seniors on Sunday at the Madrid Sports Complex with plenty of fireworks and a little history made. The Cowgirls defeated South Dakota, 5-2, with a pair of braces, and that's the first time that's occurred in program history.

Both Alyssa Glover and Isabel Vasco scored two goals, and that's never before happened in program history. Alisa Bunn put the finishing, and fitting, touches on the Senior Day victory with the contest's final score.

"The result is great," head coach Josh Purdum said. "To see our performance and how we played for the seniors is great. We had tremendous fan support again today. What an environment to be a part of. We really enjoyed the game and really enjoyed the result, but performances across the board were great."

The win improves Wyoming to 3-2-0 on the season. The loss drops the Coyotes to 2-2-2 on the year.

Vasco tallied the game's first score in the fourth minute. It was her first-career goal in what was her first-career start.

Glover accounted for goals two and three. She scored in minutes 27 and 61 – the second of which Vasco assisted on – giving Glover four goals for the season and 22 for her career. That moves her into a tie for third all-time in program history.

Vasco's second score occurred during the 63rd minute. Maddie Burr found her, making it 4-1 Cowgirls.

Alisa Bunn put the finishing touches on the victory. She took a pass from Erin Dahl and scored the most goals for Wyoming in a single match in the Purdum era.

Haley Bartel played the first 70 minutes and surrendered one goal. Julia Herges entered the game in the 70th minute and allowed one goal, as well.

South Dakota's, Sadie Strait, got the Coyotes on the board in the 41st minute. Klarissa Vega laid claim to the other South Dakota score in the 70th minute.

Wyoming dominated in the shots department, 19-5. That included a 10-2 advantage in shots on goal.

The Pokes now take to the road for the next five weeks. The first stop is Gonzaga on Thursday at 5 p.m.
