LARAMIE, Wyoming (6/16/26) – College Sports Communicators announced its Academic All-District honorees on Tuesday. A pair of University of Wyoming men's golfers were honored.
Brody Leid and
Kristof Panke each reeled in the award. In order to qualify, a student-athlete must be a sophomore or older, have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher and have competed in at least 75 percent of the team's competition or the conference championships.
Leid enjoyed one of the best seasons in the history of the program. He finished fourth at the Mountain West Conference Championships, which was tied for the second-highest Mountain West finish in school history and tied for the third-best conference finish overall. Leid's performance spearheaded the Pokes placing fifth as a team, which matched their highest Mountain West finish ever and second highest overall. Leid parlayed that success into tying for first – before falling in a playoff – at the National Golf Invitational with a program-record score of 198 (-18).
Panke also boasted a strong season. He helped the Cowboys place fifth at the conference championships, while also piecing together the best individual round in school history. He fired a 62 (-9) at the Ka'anapali Classic Collegiate Invitational.
