MARICOPA, ARIZ. (MAY 16, 2026) – The Wyoming Cowgirls continued their solid play during the second round of the National Golf Invitational shooting a score of 289 (+1), as UW enjoys a solid 13 stroke lead heading into Sunday's final round at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes in Maricopa, Arz. Wyoming is even-par with 576 strokes through the first two rounds of the event.

"I honestly think today's round was almost even better than yesterdays because of the course set up being difficult with the hole locations and the course overall played harder as the wind picked up," UW head coach Josey Stender said. "I was really proud of the team staying in it and you know a lot of them had a couple holes that were a little iffy and they rebounded really well from them."

Wyoming has three of the top five players in the field through two rounds. Senior Meghan Vogt led the Cowgirls on Saturday with a round of 68 (-4) tying the third-best round in Cowgirl history. She sits in second place and is two strokes back of the leader at three-under par after two rounds. Kiley Reisner finished the day with a 73 (+1), as she is currently in third place with a two-round score of two-under par.

"Kiley, Meghan and Elle have been our top three consistent performers all season long and I think it is only fitting in this event that they're continuing that," Stender said. "Meghan played phenomenal today, she probably had one errant shot that I can think of otherwise it was just a near perfect round and I was so happy for her."

Elle Higgins shot a 73 (+1) on Saturday and is tied for fourth place, as she is even par through two rounds. Kira Reisner is five-over par for two rounds after a 75(+3) on Saturday, as she is tied for 16th place. Emerson Purcell finished four-over with a 76 in the second round, as she is six-over par for the tournament and is tied for 19th place.

Denver sits in second place at 589 (+13) after two rounds. Rutgers of the Big Ten, sits in third place at 598 (+22). Bowling Green's Addison Kartusch leads the field at five-under after shooting a 68 (-4) on Saturday.

The final round of the season is set for Sunday morning, as UW will be looking for their first postseason title in their first ever postseason event.
