LARAMIE, Wyoming (4/9/26) – The University of Wyoming men's golf team wraps up the 2025-26 regular season this weekend. The Cowboys travel to Davis, California, for the El Macero Classic from Friday through Sunday.
The El Macero Country Club is a par 72 layout that stretches 6,832 yards. Eighteen holes will be contested each day, beginning at 9 a.m. (MST).
The Pokes are fresh off their best finish of the season. They tied for seventh in the 25-team field at the Cowboy Classic last week.
A pair of freshmen paced Wyoming in Maricopa, Arizona.
Kellen Ball and
Brody Knowlton both tied for 14th at 212 (-4). It marked the fifth time this spring that Knowlton has spearheaded the team's effort and was Ball's best-career finish of his early career in Laramie.
This marks the first time the Cowboys have participated in the El Macero Classic in quite some time. In addition to Wyoming, the 2026 field is comprised of UC San Diego, Denver, Gonzaga, Pacific, San Francisco, Seattle, St. Mary's, UT Arlington, Sacramento State, Fresno State, Cal Baptist, Colorado State, CSU-Northridge, UC Riverside, CSU-Fullerton, Washington State, Nevada and host UC Davis.
Following the El Macero Classic, the Pokes will turn their attention to postseason golf. The Mountain West Conference Championship runs from May 3-5 in Tucson, Arizona.
