RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. – The Cowgirls capped a memorable 2025-26 season with the best finish in program history at the Mountain West Women's Golf Championships.

Wyoming finished fourth in the 10-team conference tournament with a 54-hole score of 885 (+21) after shooting a collective 293 (+5) in Thursday's final round at the Mission Hills Country Club.

The Cowgirls, who were only one stroke behind third-place Grand Canyon (+20), matched their highest finish in MW Championships history. UW was also fourth in 2000, but there were only five teams in the inaugural event that year.

"I wouldn't even say it's surreal, because I knew how talented this group was," UW head coach Josey Stender said. "It was just more of getting us all on the same page, and we slowly built towards that this entire spring."

Kiley Reisner capped her remarkable campaign as the runner-up for the individual trophy at 3-under (213) for the tournament. UW's star freshman saved her best for last with a 70 in the final round after shooting 72 in the first round and 71 in the second round on the par-72, 6,286-yard Dinah Shore Tournament Course.

Boise State's Leia Chung (-5) held off Reisner for the individual victory, and UNLV (+14) repeated as champions over runner-up San Jose State (+16).

Only UW's two MW individual champions, Jordan Lintz (2000) and Jonelle Martinez (2009), have finished higher in the event than Reisner.

It was a spectacular spring for Reisner, who won two events (Thunderbird Classic and Bobcat Desert Classic) and set the program low individual event record with a 207 (-9) at the Cowgirl Classic.

"I'm honestly not surprised," Stender said of Reisner's second-place finish. "Not only is she obviously very gifted, but she's done everything that we have asked of her as coaches, to kind of clean up parts of her game that she recognized she could get away with in junior golf. But to perform at this level and against our conferences, which is nationally ranked every year and we're going to have multiple teams make postseason, I think she recognized that she needed to improve her wedge game.

"Kiley also needed to improve her process and just seeing her mature over the year has been extremely rewarding."

Meghan Vogt concluded her stellar career with back-to-back rounds of 73 to finish +6 (tied for 14th). The senior, who battled through a painful shoulder injury this year, hit her final approach shot within six feet and hugged a teary-eyed Stender after her last round in the brown and gold.

"She has been just an awesome kid for us," Stender said of Vogt, who tied the program record for lowest round (67) in October after teammate Elle Higgins set the mark in September.

Higgins (+7), a junior, finished tied for 17th and sophomore Kira Reisner (+11) finished tied for 28th to help the Cowgirls move past fifth-place Nevada and out-pace sixth-place Colorado State by six strokes.

"I give a ton of credit to Meg and Elle, who have just been battling injuries all year long," Stender said. "Their gutsy performances really motivated Kiley to perform highly and motivated Kira to perform highly. It just was truly a collective effort."
