MARICOPA, Arizona (3/31/26) – The University of Wyoming men's golf team hosted Day 1 of the Cowboy Classic on Tuesday at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club. The second round didn't get completed due to darkness. As it stands, the Pokes are 12th at 4-under.

USC leads the team standings at 22-under. CSU-Northridge's Bryson Barnes is currently atop the individual leaderboard at 9-under.

"First of all, I want to thank AK-Chin Southern Dunes for their hospitality in what will be a two-week relationship with Wyoming golf – from now through the Cowgirl Classic next week," head coach Joe Jensen said. "Our guys had some good preparation ahead of this tournament and it translated. This is a competitive and big field, and we are in the top half, so I'm pleased."

Kellen Ball was steady and currently shares 16th place at 3-under. Ball began the tournament with a 70 (-2).

Kristof Panke isn't far behind and is tied for 23rd at 2-under. He recorded a Round 1 score of 71 (-1).

Brody Leid shares 69th place at 2-over. He fired an opening-round 73 (+1).

Brody Knowlton and Conner Scheich are tied for 88th at 4-over. Knowlton logged a first-round 73 (+1), while Scheich began with a 78 (+6).

Austin Barry, who's competing as an individual, is tied for 127th at 15-over. He opened with an 80 (+8).

Wednesday will kick off at 8:15 a.m. (MST) with teams completing Round 2 and immediately beginning the final round thereafter.
