FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Rainy conditions washed out the third round of the Colonel Wollenberg Ram Classic on Tuesday at Ptarmigan Country Club.
 
The Wyoming women's golf team, which was tied with host Colorado State for eighth after the first round, slipped to 11^th in the final team standings after concluding the second round, which was suspended on Monday night.
 
True freshman Kiley Reisner finished tied for 17^th at 1-over for the abbreviated 36-round tournament to lead the Cowgirls.
 
Elle Higgins – who set program records for individual low round with a 68 (-5) and lowest tournament score with a 209 (-7) to lead UW to a runner-up finish at the Wolverine Invitational in Saratoga Spring, Utah – finished +4 and tied for 31^st on the individual leaderboard.
 
Senior Meghan Vogt also finished in the top 40 at +5 before the course was deemed unplayable for the final round.
 
"We had a fantastic start (Monday), played with a lot of confidence and aggressiveness," UW head coach Josey Stender said. "Round two set up was a bit more challenging and we didn't have the putts fall like in the morning. We lost a few stokes late, unfortunately, when the storms came in. Overall, a competitive finish in a nationally ranked field."
 
Colorado won the Ram Classic after shooting -11 as a team in the first round and -13 for the tournament. UW finished +18, three shots behind rival CSU.
 
The Cowgirls will return to action at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate hosted by Denver Oct. 3-5.
