COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado (9/20/25) – The University of Wyoming men's golf team completed Day 1 at the Gene Miranda Falcon Invite on Saturday.
Kristof Panke paced the Pokes who're in 17th as a team at 297 (+9) in a tournament being played at the Eisenhower – Blue Course.
"Kristof looks so good physically, and he's doing everything very well," head coach
Joe Jensen said. "He's right where he needs to be. He's trusting the process. He's hitting it well, putting it well and he's not getting in his own way. He's done a really nice job."
Panke is within shouting distance of first, just two shots back, as he's tied for eighth following an opening round 70 (-2). He littered the card with six birdies on Saturday.
Ryker Lind, receiving his first-career start, is tied for 53rd at 74 (+2). He boasted a trio of birdies through 18 holes.
Brody Leid is positioned in a tie for 77th at 76 (+4). He holed four birdies.
Conner Scheich, who rounded out the team scoring, also made four birdies and is tied for 91st after a 77 (+5).
Kellen Ball is tied for 107th following a 79 (+7).
Idaho leads at 283 (-5). Gonzaga isn't far behind at 285 (-3), while Utah State, Cal Baptist and UC San Diego round out the top three at 287 (-1). Cal Baptist's Jared Abercrombie and Utah Valley's Paxton Maxwell are atop the individual leaderboard at 68 (-4).
The individual portion of the tournament is taking place on the Silver Course.
Brody Knowlton is tied for 12th at 71 (-1), and
Austin Barry is tied for 33rd following a 77 (+5).
Second round action begins Sunday at 8:30 a.m.
