FORT COLLINS, Colorado (9/11/25) – The University of Wyoming men's golf team kicked off its 2025-26 season on Thursday at the Ram Masters Invite. The Cowboys – who are breaking in five freshmen – are currently sitting in 16th place at 605 (+45) following 36 holes at the Fort Collins Country Club.
"Most freshmen don't even play as a freshman," head coach
Joe Jensen said. "So, this is a great experience for those five guys. And I saw improvement from the first round to the second round. We are just at the very beginning of a long process, and we'll get there."
One of the many new faces on the squad led the way Thursday.
Conner Scheich, who's playing as an individual, is positioned in a tie for 23rd following a consistent day where he fired a 70 (E) and 71 (+1) for a 141 (+1).
Brody Leid, one of the two returnees on the roster, is tied for 49th at 149 (+8). He opened with a 73 (+3) and closed with a 75 (+5).
Kellen Ball, another freshman, isn't far behind at 151 (+10). He opened strong with a 71 (+1) and struggled a bit in Round 2, carding a 79 (+9).
Kristof Panke, the other returner, sits at 152 (+11) to put him in a tie for 64th. He was steady, recording a 76 (+6) in the first round before logging a 75 (+5).
Ryker Lind, playing as an individual, is also tied for 64th at 152 (+11). He got off to a somewhat bumpy start with a 77 (+7) but closed with a stronger 74 (+4).
Austin Barry and
Brody Knowlton round out the scorers for Wyoming. Barry is tied for 89th at 161 (+20) following rounds of 82 (+12) and 78 (+8). Knowlton is tied for 91st at 162 (+21) after an 84 (+14) and a 78 (+7).
The third and final round gets underway Friday at 8 a.m.
