LAS VEGAS (Dec. 15, 2025) – Wyoming swimming enjoyed a personal best heavy night and won three events on day one of the UNLV Invitational, Monday.
"We had several PRs in new events for our team today," said head coach
Dave Denniston. "The stress of finals is apparent, but our team energy and enthusiasm have been great."
COWGIRLS
The first event in the finals slate of day one saw the Cowgirls pick up a first-place finish. In the 200-yard freestyle relay, the crew of freshman
Raiden Harris, freshman
Ella Lesnever, senior
Veronika Ozimek and junior
Tara Joyce swam a season-best time of 1:31.59.
In the prelims of the 50-yard freestyle, Joyce would set a personal-best time of 22.35 for first, good to improve her No. 2 time in program history. In the final, Harris took third with a time of 22.81.
The top Cowgirl in the 200-yard IM was junior
Tessa Bendokas with a time of 2:06.90 for seventh overall. She would also swim a time of 2:05.53 in the prelim, a personal best.
Sophomore
Avery True would lead Wyoming in the 500-yard freestyle, finishing eighth with a time of 5:05.03.
Cowgirls finished 10th in the 400-yard medley relay with the team of Harris, sophomore

COWBOYS
The Cowboys' first finals event was the 200-yard freestyle relay. In the event, the team of freshman
Jack Boysen, junior
Simon Casey, freshman
Edward Rhoe and sophomore
Luke O'Connor took third with a time of 1:19.86, a season best.
Sophomore
Isaac Lee took second in the 500-yard freestyle final with a time of 4:26.75, improving from his prelims time. Junior
Derek Long would finish seventh with a time of 4:33.94, just slower than his prelim time of 4:30.05.
In the 200-yard IM final, freshman
Jackson Kogler picked up a victory with his time of 1:46.48. Kogler would also take part in the men's 400-yard medley relay. He joined sophomore
Joe Morales, sophomore
Gray Sisco and O'Connor to finish fourth with a time of 3:16.08.
Rhoe would take fourth in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 20.18, followed by O'Connor in the ninth at 20.22.
Denniston added, "I think we will continue to improve as the meet goes along. Racing has been fun today."
