Cowgirls Hit the Road for First Time This Season at UT Arlington

LARAMIE, Wyo. (Nov. 9, 2025) – The Wyoming Cowgirls hit the road for the first time this season and the first of what will be three consecutive road contests as they travel to face UT Arlington Tuesday at 5:30 p.m., Mountain Time.

Tuesday's game will be broadcast live on ESPN Plus and can be heard across the Cowgirl Radio Network with David Settle on the call.

ABOUT THE COWGIRLS
Wyoming (1-1) got into the win column for the first time in 2025-26 with a convincing 72-39 win Friday night at home against Long Beach State. The Cowgirls, who led wire-to-wire in the contest, scored the first 12 points of the game and led by as many as 39 points late in the fourth. UW shot 54.7-percent (29-53) from the field and hit 9-of-21 (43-percent) from 3-point range in the victory while holding LBSU to just 15-for-55 (27.3-percent) shooting and 4-of-22 (18.2-percent) from deep.

Four Cowgirls scored in double figures in the win and were led by Malene Pedersen's 15 points, her 22nd consecutive game scoring in double figures. Pedersen had an all-around great night in just 28 minutes of action, shooting 6-of-8 from the field and making 3-of-4 from 3-point range. Pedersen also grabbed a game-high eight rebounds and dished out seven assists in the win. Joining Pedersen in double digits were Logann Alvar, who had 14 on 7-for-9 shooting and Lana Beslic and Henna Sandvik who added 10 points each. Four Cowgirls also reached career-highs in points in the win. The 14 from Alvar are a career-best for her, and it also marks the first time at UW she has reached double figures. Beslic's 10 are a career-high and were also her first-career points with the Cowgirls. Sandvik, the Indiana transfer scored a Wyoming career-high while Madi Symons' eight points and two made 3-pointers were also career-best marks for her.

On the young season, Wyoming is averaging 59.5 points per game and is shooting 45.4-percent from the floor and 31.6-percent from beyond-the-arc. The Cowgirls have a plus-eight rebounding margin on the year and are averaging 14.5 assists per game. UW recorded 20 assists Friday against LBSU on 29 made field goals. Wyoming has again hung its hat on the defensive end this season through two contests. The Cowgirls are allowing just 47.5 points per game while opponents have shot just 35.4-percent from the field and 21.4-percent from 3-point range.

Pedersen leads the Cowgirls in scoring (14.5), rebounding (6.5) and assists (4.5) per game while shooting 55-percent overall and 5-of-8 (62.5-percent) from deep. Alvar is also in double figures with 10.5 a contest. Off the bench, Payton Muma's eight points per game is fourth on the team and leads Cowgirl reserves. Muma, who is second on the team with six assists, has a team-high four steals on the year.

SCOUTING UT ARLINGTON
UT Arlington enters Tuesday contest 0-2 on the young season. The Lady Mavs are averaging 56 points per game and allowing opponents to score 72.5 per contest. UTA is shooting 35.6-percent from the floor and 23.5-percent from 3-point range. UT Arlington opponents have shot 43.2-percent overall and just 20-percent from beyond-the-arc. The Lady Mavs are averaging seven assists per game and are committing 26.5 turnovers a contest. UTA is a minus-two in rebounding margin thus far. The Lady Mavs have been potent on defense, averaging 11.5 steals and seven blocks per game as a squad.

Kira Reynolds is the only Lady Mav scoring in double-figures this season, as she averages 12.5 points per game. Reynolds is averaging a double-double as she is pulling down 12 rebounds per contest and has shot 53-percent from the floor. Reynolds also leads the team with seven blocks this season. Jadyn Atchison leads UTA with four assists on the year and has two made 3-pointers. Alexsyah Goudeau leads UT Arlington with five steals.

SERIES HISTORY AGAINST UT ARLINGTON
The series is tied 1-1 between the two programs. The Cowgirls won the only meeting in Arlington, 78- 68 back in January of 1986. The Lady Mavs won the lone meeting in Laramie, in 1990.
