LARAMIE, Wyo. (Nov. 23, 2025) – After spending the last three contests on the road, the Wyoming Cowgirls return home Tuesday morning for their annual Education Day game as Chadron State comes to town. Tip-off is set for 11 a.m.
Tuesday's game will be broadcast live on the Mountain West Network and can be heard across the Cowgirl Radio Network with David Settle on the call.
ABOUT THE COWGIRLS
Wyoming is coming off a 65-45 road loss Friday at North Dakota to close its three-game road swing. Malene Pedersen led all scorers with a game- and season-high 19 points on 9-of-15 shooting. Pedersen, who has led the Cowgirls in scoring in all five games this season, is fifth in the Mountain West in scoring so far on the young season, averaging 15 points per game. Pedersen's 52.5-percent shooting ranks third-best in the league.
Payton Muma, who made her first-career start with the Brown & Gold at UND, recorded a career-high five steals in the loss, becoming the first player since Emily Mellema in 2024 to recorded five-plus steals. Muma, who leads Wyoming averaging three assists per game, is averaging 2.2 steals a contest, which ranks seventh-best in the conference. Pedersen also recorded a career-best in steals against the Fighting Hawks, as she recorded four thefts on the day.
As a team, the Cowgirls rank in the top half of the league five statistical categories. Wyoming is fifth in the MW with an assist-to-turnover ratio of 0.81 and is second in fewest fouls committed per game with just 13.4. The Cowgirls are sixth in the league in scoring defense (60.0), assists per game (12.4) and blocks per game (2.8).
SCOUTING CHADRON STATE
Chadron State enters Tuesday morning averaging 52.7 points per game and allowing nearly 81 points a contest. The Eagles are shooting 33-percent overall from the floor and under 25-percent from 3-point range. CSC opponents are shooting 43-percent from the field and 33-percent from beyondthe-arc. Chadron is beging out-rebounded by nearly 14 boards per contest and is committing 25.3 turnovers per game and averaging 10 assists a contest.
Audrey Quintana leads a balanced scoring effort for the Eagles, averaging 9.3 points per game. Kenna Wagner is averaging nine a contest while McKenzi Petersen averages eight a game. Petersen also leads the Eagles with four rebounds per contest while Wagner's eight assists are a team high. Amya Winfrey leads Chadron State with five blocks in the first three contests of 2025-26.
SERIES HISTORY AGAINST CHADRON STATE
Wyoming is 14-0 all time against Chadron State with all previous contests held in Laramie. The Cowgirls last hosted the Eagles in November of 2023, a 78-32 UW victory. The Cowgirls have held CSC to just 46.6 points per game in the series.
