COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (September 24, 2024) – Senior Kylie Simshauser was named the Mountain West Women's Athlete of the Week for the second time this season as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.

After a third-place finish in a stacked Roy Griak Invitational and leading the Cowgirls to a third-place team finish last Friday, Simshauser earned the conference honor for the second time in as many meets. Her time of 21:25.4 was faster than all the runners from the No. 25 ranked Utah Valley and the received votes Colorado State teams.

A Cowgirl has never won the award twice in one season and the last time any Wyoming runner was honored more than once was Paul Roberts when he won twice in the 2018 season.

Simshauser and the rest of the cross country program will be back in action at the Joe Piane Invitational on October 4, in South Bend Ind.
