ST. PAUL, Minn. (September 19, 2024) – After a three-week hiatus, the University of Wyoming cross country program travels east for the Roy Griak Invitational hosted by Minnesota on Friday, in St. Paul, Minn. The men will run their 8k race at 9 a.m. MT, women run 6k at 9:45 a.m. MT.
Wyoming will compete against American, California, Colorado State, High Point (Men), Minnesota, Montana State (Women), Navy, North Dakota, North Dakota State, North Texas, Ohio, Ohio State, San Diego State (Women), Santa Clara, South Dakota State, St. Thomas (Minn.), Utah Valley and Youngstown State.
The Cowgirls will run the Gold 6k and be up against No. 25 Utah Valley and Colorado State who received votes in the USTFCCCA Week One National Coaches' Poll. After a second-place finish and the top women's finisher in the Wyoming Invite, the Cowgirls look to keep their success running. Fourteen Cowgirls will travel for the meet, including Wyoming's top seven finishers from the last outing.
Cowboys, while not competing against any nationally ranked opponents, look to repeat after their team victory at the Wyoming Invite in the Gold 8k against several Top 15 regionally ranked teams. Those teams include Colorado State and Utah Valley from the mountain region. Wyoming will travel 12 Cowboys to the meet, including the top seven from the Wyoming Invite.

Last Time Out
The Cowboys finished first and the Cowgirls came in second at the Wyoming Invite on August 30. Junior
Jacob White claimed first in the 5k with a time of 14:46.8, the No. 17 time in the country. Senior
Mason Norman joined White in the top three with his time of 14:57.3
For the women,
Kylie Simshauser also finished first with a personal best, course best and program record time in the 5k at 17:14.0. Her time ranks her at No. 54 in the nation after three weeks of action.
