USAFA, Colo. (Sept. 15, 2024) – The first fall tournament of 2024 is in the books for the Wyoming Cowgirl tennis team. UW completed day three of the Bedford Cup Sunday, hosted by the Air Force Academy.

Sunday was the best day of the weekend for the Cowgirls down at the Bedford Cup. Wyoming won 2-of-3 singles matches on Sunday and also picked up a doubles win. In doubles, the team of Violetta Borodina and Dilnaz Mashabayeva headlined the day for the Cowgirls and the weekend.

The duo was able to claim third place in the "Blue" doubles division behind the strength of a 6-4 win over South Dakota's Amanda de Oliveira and Sorcha Caves.

In singles action, Elena Trencheva and Anastasiia Kochelaevskaia picked up wins. Kochelaevskaia won in straight sets, 6-0 and 7-5 over Idaho State's Olivia Mikkelson. Trencheva, meanwhile, held on in three sets, 6-4, 5-7 and won the super set 10-5.

UW will next be in action with a quick turnaround as it plays already down in Cancun, Mexico beginning September 18 for the Princess Hotels College Cup.
