Cowgirls Ready for Run at Mountain West Championships

LARAMIE, Wyo.  (April 14, 2024) – The Wyoming Cowgirl golf team is peaking at the right time heading to the Mountain West Championships in Rancho Mirage, Calif. running April 16-17 on the Dinah Shore Tournament Course at Mission Hills, Country Club.
 
Wyoming is coming off the best finish of the season tying for third place at the Bobcat Desert Classic in Arizona. In fact, it was also the lowest team score for a tournament in school history with a 871 (+7).
 
The Cowgirls shot a 282 (-6) for the second round, which was a single-round school record of three-under set in 2006. Wyoming also recorded a round of 287 (-1) in the first round, which is the third-lowest single round in the history of Cowgirl golf. Wyoming shot five rounds under par in the last event.
 
Morgan Ryan led the Cowgirls tying for 10th place in the event. She shot under par in the first two rounds. Overall, Ryan has shot under par for the Cowgirls in three of the last four rounds. She tied a school record with a 68 (-4) at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic in the final round of play. Grace Dunkleberger tied the school record at the Bobcat Desert Classic with a 68 (-4) in the second round.
 
Jadan Gonzalez also finished in the top-25 at the Bobcat Desert Classic finishing tied for 22nd. She was followed by Kyla Wilde, as she finished just outside the top-25 in a tie for 26th.

The Mountain West has partnered with GKLive.TV to broadcast both the MW Women's Golf Championship and the MW Men's Golf Championship live on GolfKast in 2024.

The MW Women's Golf Championship is slated for April 16-18 at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, California. The MW Men's Golf Championship will take place April 26-28 at Emerald Valley Golf Club in Creswell, Oregon.

GKLive will live stream each day of the women's and men's tournaments, from tee-off of the first group through completion of the final group.

The women's championship will provide coverage with 20 cameras on select holes as well as a mobile camera. Hole 18 will include live play-by-play each day from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. PT. Simply click on the camera you want to watch. A Golfstat link will also be provided to follow the live scoring. All cameras are on-demand, so you're in control. The Mountain West Network's Jesse Kurtz will provide play-by-play commentary for both tournaments. Former San Diego State head coach and LPGA professional Leslie Spalding will serve as analyst for the MW Women's Golf Championship and Golfweek writer and former PGA Tour caddy Lance Ringler will be the analyst for the MW Men's Golf Championship.
