LARAMIE, Wyo. — The University of Wyoming Track & Field Teams are heading to the Don Kirby Invite in Albuquerque, N.M., and the Husky Classic in Seattle, Wash., for two days this Friday and Saturday to compete in the second to last weekend before the 2024 Mountain West Conference Indoor Championships.
HUSKY CLASSIC & DON KIRBY INVITE
The Cowboy and Cowgirl distance runners are headed to Seattle for the Husky Classic. The meet hosted by the University of Washington features a lot of fast distance races and gives the Pokes the opportunity to improve on their best times this season. Freshman Salma Elbadra and Mason Norman have topped the Wyoming record books already this season. Elbadra in the Mile and Norman in the 3000M. The first race for the Pokes will be on Friday night.
Heading to the Don Kirby Invite hosted by the University of New Mexico will be a full squad of Wyoming student athletes representing in the jumps, throws and sprints. Like Elbadra and Norman, Kareem Mersal has set the new standard at Wyoming in the Long Jump. A plethora of student athletes have moved into the Wyoming Top-10 books this season and the meets this weekend will feature good competition to bring the best out of the Cowboys and Cowgirls.
