INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The NCAA Division One Men's and Women's Track and Field and Cross Country Committee announced the participants who will compete in the 2024 Indoor Track and Field Championships on the evening of Tuesday Feb. 27th. Kareem Mersal and Remar Pitter will represent the University of Wyoming at the Championships in the Long Jump after earning a spot with record-breaking jumps during the season.

Mersal and Pitter are one of three sets of teammates that will compete in the Long Jump at the NCAA Championships joining duos from the University of Florida and Florida State University in the field of 16 in the event. The Cowboys will be the first Pokes at the Indoor Championship since Shayla Howell earned second-team All American Honors in the Long Jump in 2021.

MERSAL

This will be Mersal's first time competing at the NCAA Indoor Championship Meet after qualifying two-straight years for the Outdoor Championships. Mersal broke the eight-meter mark for the first time in his career earlier this season as he set the Mountain West and Wyoming school record. Mersal went to Albuquerque and the Mountain West Championships and earned an individual title in the event last weekend.
