Fort Collins, Colorado (Sept. 6, 2023) -- Wyoming Cowboy golf played their first two rounds of the new season on Wednesday at the Ram Masters Invitational. They started the season strong shooting 11 over par as a team through two rounds sitting in sixth out of the 13 teams competing with one round left to play. The tournament will conclude Thursday with the third and final round at the Fort Collins Country Club.
Jaren Calkins led the way for the Cowboys through the first 32 holes shooting rounds of 68 (-2) and (+1) to finish the day tied for seventh with a total score of 139 (-1).
Kristof Panke capped off his first day of the new campaign tied for 28
th shooting a 144 (+4) through two rounds of play. The duo of
Patrick Azevedo and
Jimmy Dales finished their days just one stroke behind Panke posting a two round scores of 145 (+5) currently sitting in a tie for 34
th. Rounding out the Cowboy lineup,
Davis Seybert closed out his day tied for 44th with a two round score of 147 (+7).
As a team, the Cowboys closed out the day in sixth out of 13 teams sitting just one stroke behind fifth place Utah Valley. Colorado State and Long Beach State currently sit in a tie for first after two rounds of play with each team sitting ten strokes under par with one round left to play.
The Cowboys will close out the Ram Masters Invitational tomorrow with the final round of play set to start at 8 a.m. MT.
