Manheim, Penn. (April 22, 2023) – The National Wrestling Coaches Association announced it list of Scholar All-American honorees for the 2022-23 season with three Cowboys making the list. The trio of Jacob Wright, Garrett Ricks and Tyce Raddon were named Scholar All-American for their outstanding academic success in the classroom along with their competitive success on the mat.
 
For the duo of Ricks and Raddon, the Scholar All-American honors are the first such honors of their careers and caps off a memorable first season in the Brown and Gold for the pair of Western Wyoming transfers. Each of them made multiple dual starts for the Cowboys on the season as well as competing in their first Big 12 Championships. Ricks closed out his season with an eighth-place finish in at the Big 12 championships.
 
For Wright, he adds NWCA Scholar All-American to his long list of academic achievements which includes earning CoSIDA Academic All-District and All-American honors last season. Wright finished off his Cowboy career with 103 total wins which ranks tied for 18^th all time in program history while also qualifying for his fourth NCAA tournament after finishing third at the Big 12 Championships.
