PALO ALTO, Calif. — A pair of University of Wyoming Track & Field student athletes hit the track at the University of Stanford and the Stanford Invitational on Friday evening to compete in the 3000M Steeplechase amongst elite competition.
Katelyn Mitchem broke the Wyoming school record by 15 seconds running a time of 9:52.49 to finish second in her heat. Mitchem now Now holds the school record in three different events. In the Indoor 800, Indoor Mile and has the second best time in the Indoor 3K. This is the third school record she has taken down in the past three months.
Seth Bruxvoort took to the 3000M Steeplechase and set a new personal best with a run of 8:53.13. Bruxvoort maintains his spot as No. 10 on the UW all-time top 10 list.
The Cowboys and Cowgirls are in action again on Saturday for a full slate from the Jack Christiansen Invitational hosted by Colorado State in Fort Collins, Colo.
