LARAMIE, Wyo. (March 10, 2023) – The Wyoming Cowgirl tennis team will end their 10-day hiatus Sunday with a trip to Colorado for a 10 a.m., matchup with the Buffaloes. The Cowgirls are looking to snap a two-match losing skid after winning 4-of-5 matches, previously.
Sunday's matchup also closes a four-match streak of play away from home for Wyoming. UW lost 6-1 when it was last in action, losing at Denver. The Cowgirls won the doubles point that day as the duos of Ana Fernandez and Sophie Zehender at No. 1 and Violetta Borodina and Maria Oreshkina (No. 2) both picked up wins to secure the point for the Cowgirls. This will be the fourth consecutive season Wyoming and the Buffs will face one another.
CU enters Sunday with a 7-5 mark overall and is 3-3 at home in 2023. The Buffs have played a pair of common opponents as the Cowgirls this season, losing at Nebraska and Denver. Colorado also faced-off with Mountain West opponent Air Force earlier this spring, winning 5-2.
