LARAMIE, Wyo. (Feb. 2, 2023) – The Wyoming Cowgirl tennis team hosts its home opener Saturday, February 11 with an 11 a.m., match against Idaho. Saturday will be the first of five home matches for the Cowgirls in 2023.
UW (0-4) has been off since a January 17 trip to then-No. 4 Oklahoma. It was the last of four matches in the Sooner State to begin the dual season for the Cowgirls. Nikol Dobrilova led the way with a pair of wins at the No. 5 singles' spot on the trip. The doubles teams of Ana Fernandez and Sophie Zehender, as well as the tandem Noesjka Brink and Dobrilova earned doubles victories to open the season.
The Cowgirls, who went 6-2 in home matches last season, have been tremendous under Head Coach Dean Clower in Laramie. In his previous 11 seasons at Wyoming, the Cowgirls have posted a 51-9 (.850) record at home.
Idaho is opening its dual season this week, before traveling to UW, the Vandals play at Air Force Thursday.
