LARAMIE, Wyo. (Oct. 17, 2023) – The Wyoming Cowgirl tennis team concludes its fall slate this week as it travels to Salt Lake City and the University of Utah for the ITA Mountain Regional. The event will run from October 18 to the 22nd.

The Cowgirls have had a strong showing thus far during their fall schedule. Wyoming has taken home a pair of titles at previous tournaments this year. The fall began with Violetta Borodina and Sophie Zehender winning the doubles title at the Bedford Cup, hosted by the Air Force Academy. It was the first title of any kind at the Bedford Cup in program history for UW. A few weeks later, Noesjka Brink claimed a singles title at the Colorado State Jon Messick Invitational.

This week's tournament marks the first time in five years that the Mountain Regional was not hosted by UNLV. A total of 19 teams will be competing at the regional, including eight Mountain West squads. All student-athletes are guaranteed at least two matches. In Division I, regional doubles champions, as well as regional singles champions and runners-up, qualify for the ITA National Fall Championships at the end of the fall season in November.
