BOULDER, Colo. — The University of Wyoming Track & Field teams competed at the 2023 Potts Invitational in Boulder, Colo., on Friday for the first competition of 2023.
At the meet hosted by the University of Colorado five Cowboys and Cowgirls took second place in their respective events with a few other notable finishes for the first meet of the new year and second of the season.
For the men, Hunter Brown got things started in the first event that finished up on the day with a second place in the High Jump at 6-7. Kaliff Guevara and Jefferson Danso finished two-three in the Long Jump at 47-4.25 and 46-1.25. Cameron Burkett took second in the Shot Put with a throw of 56-8.5.
On the women's side, Kayla Stibley took second place in the Pole Vault at 11-11.75. Sadie McMullen and Joan Easter go three-four in the Long Jump with marks of 18-6.5 and 17-11 respectively. Aumni Ashby and Elayna Chafee went second and third In the Triple Jump at 39-5.75 and 37-11.25. In the final event of the day Mary Carbee took fourth place in the Weight Throw with a mark of 57-1.
Friday saw all the field events take place at this years event with the Pokes slated to hit the track on Saturday for the running events.

The meet will be held at the Indoor Practice Facility on the University of Colorado's campus. Spectators will be charged for admission to the meet as follows; $5 Friday and $8 Saturday. Spectators are restricted to all Clear Bag Policy rules and regulations. Athletes and coaches are not restricted to the clear bag policy but will be subject to a bag check at the entrance to the IPF.
