TEMPE, Ariz. (June 9, 2022) – A pair of Wyoming Cowgirls were ranked in the top-20 of the Mountain Region rankings in the end-of-season ITA regional rankings announced this week by the ITA.
For the second consecutive season, both Maria Oreshkina and Sophie Zehender finished the season in the rankings. Oreshkina, who earlier this season became just the third Cowgirl in program history to receive a third All-Mountain West honor, finished the season ranked No. 11 in the rankings. Oreshkina finished the year tied for second on the team with 11 dual victories and went 5-2 in Mountain West play.
Zehender, meanwhile, who also was named to the All-Mountain West Singles Team earlier in the year, finished 14th in the region. Zehender led the team with a 12-4 dual record this past spring and went 5-3 in league play.
As a team, the Cowgirls finished at No. 9 in the region.
