Biography

SENIOR (2023-24): Was named to both the All-Mountain West Singles and Doubles Teams for the fourth time in her career. Became the fourth Cowgirl in program history to be named All-Mountain West singles, four times. She became just the second Cowgirl all-time to be named to the all-doubles team four times. She is the first Cowgirl in program history to "double-up" the four-time honors by being selected to both the doubles and singles team for a fourth time. Set a single-season program record with 26 doubles wins along with partner Violetta Borodina. Went 7-2 in conference play in doubles action. Went 19-10 overall in singles play, including posting a 17-7 dual mark and going 8-2 in conference play, playing exclusively at No. 1. Closes her illustrious career 15th all-time with 62 singles wins. Her 67 career doubles victories are tied for the seventh-most all time.

JUNIOR (2022-23): Was named to both the All-Mountain West Singles and Doubles Teams for the third time in her career. Was named to the All-Doubles Team along with her partner, Ana Fernandez. Zehender and Fernandez finished the season ranked sixth in the final ITA Mountain Region poll. Won 15 singles matches overall on the year, including 12 victories in the spring. Posted a 5-3 mark in Mountain West play, including 11 victories at the No. 1 spot. Went 13-10 in 2023 in doubles action and recorded a trio of league victories, all at the No. 1 position. Named the Mountain West Player of the Week April 24.

SOPHOMORE (2021-22): Named both to the All-Mountain West Singles Team and All-MW Doubles Team for the second-straight season. Was named all-doubles along with partner Ana Fernandez as the duo recorded nine dual wins in 2022 and went 5-3 in league play. Zehender once again led the Cowgirls with 12 singles victories during dual action in the spring and was a team-high 6-2 in league play. Zehender closed the year winning 5-of-7 singles matches and going 6-4 in her last 10 doubles’ contests. Went 17-7 overall in 2021-22 in singles play and was 12-10 in doubles play.

FRESHMAN (2021): Named to both the All-Mountain West Singles and Doubles Teams in 2021. Second on the team with an 11-6 record during singles play while going 4-3 against conference foes. Went 8-3 at the No. 2 singles position during the spring. Led the Cowgirls with a 13-4 mark in doubles play along with partner Ana Fernandez. Went 5-3 in doubles play during league play. Named the Mountain West Female Tennis Athlete of the Week twice in 2021 (February 24 and March 10).

HIGH SCHOOL: The Second District Champion in Germany, Zehender also finished second at the Baden-Wurttembergische Championship. Growing up, Zehender also participated in both the youth and women's German Championships. In 2019, Zehender reached the semifinals of three national tournaments in Germany, as well as the finals in a pair of regional tournaments. She also finished 2019 as the RVR Cup Champion and made it to the semifinals in both the Ladies Open and Dimah Open.
