FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Nathan Reid threw a personal best 182-4 in the Men's Discus for a 10th place finish on Day Three of the 2022 NCAA West Preliminary Round to qualify for the 2022 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
Reid becomes the second Cowboy to qualify for the NCAA Championships to be held June 8th - June 11th to be held at Hayward Field at the University of Oregon in Eugene. This will be the second consecutive year with a men's Discus thrower qualifying for the NCAAs as Colton Paller did the same in 2011. Reid owns the No. 10 all-time mark in the event at UW.
Tarique George competed alongside Reid in the Discus today. George finished 45th out of 48th with a mark of 158-0.
Two Cowboy distance runners took to the track at John McDonnell on the campus of the University of Arkansas. Seth Bruxvoort and Albert Steiner ran in the 3000M Steeplechase. Bruxvoort finished in 32nd with a time of 9:01.77 while Steiner finished 43rd with a time of 9:12.26.
The two Cowboys finish the season with the No. 7 (Steiner) and No. 10 (Bruxvoort) times in the event at Wyoming.
The top 48 athletes from each region are competing this week in their respective events with the top 12 finishers from both the West and East heading to Eugene, Ore., and the 2022 NCAA Division One Outdoor Championships to be held on June 8th-11th.
