FORT COLLINS, Colo. (April 21, 2022) – The Wyoming Cowgirl tennis team dropped its penultimate regular season match of the season Thursday afternoon, falling at Colorado State, 4-1 in Fort Collins.

The Cowgirls (10-12, 4-5 MW) got a victory from Mihaela Kaftanova at No. 6 singles for their lone win of the day. Kaftanova defeated CSU's Anastasiia Kotsyuba in straight sets, 6-4 and 6-1. Wyoming was also on the cusp of winning at No. 1 singles before the Rams (13-7, 7-2 MW) secured the win with their fourth victory.

Maria Oreshkina was up 6-5 in the second set at the first position, after winning the first set against CSU's Radka Buzkova, 7-5. Lucia Malinak was also in her third set at the No. 3 singles spot before the match was clinched.

Wyoming closes out its regular season Friday morning at 10 a.m., against Nevada, in Fort Collins. Friday's contest was moved up to 10 a.m., start from its original 1 p.m., slate due to forecasted inclement weather in the afternoon.
