LARAMIE, Wyo. (Feb. 9, 2022) – Wyoming Cowboy wrestling will continue their streak of road duals this week as they head to Colorado Springs, Colorado for a Big 12 tilt against the Air Force Falcons on Friday night. It will be a late-night showdown as the dual is set to begin at 7 p.m. MT.
 
"I feel good about where we are at and how we wrestled last week.  I am anticipating us to continue to look better each week as we prepare for March." Head Wrestling Coach Mark Branch said, "Air Force always wrestles hard and we need to go out and control match pace from the beginning and look for bonus points when we have the opportunity.  We need to continue to build momentum and polish our wrestling with good consistent habits." 
 
The Pokes will be in search of their third straight win and their third conference win of the season when they face off against the Falcons. Air Force will be led by Heavyweight powerhouse Wyatt Hendrickson who is currently 16-0 on the season and ranked sixth at 285 pounds. The lone ranked matchup of the night will take place at 174 pounds as No. 11 ranked Hayden Hastings will face off against No. 30 ranked Sam Wolf in what could be one of the most important matches of the dual. 
 
Wyoming will be riding a wave of momentum into Friday's dual after picking up a solid win over Northern Colorado a week ago. The Pokes won six matches including three bonus point victories to propel themselves to a 21-15 victory over the Bears. 
 
Looking to continue his hot streak will be No. 4 ranked Stephen Buchanan who is on a four-match winning streak with his last three wins coming over ranked opponents. Cole moody also takes a winning streak into Friday night's duals after winning his last six matches with three bonus points wins in the stretch.
 
The last time Wyoming and Air Force met was a season ago in Laramie and the Cowboys came away with a big 22-9 win over the Falcons.
