LARAMIE, Wyo. (Jan. 21, 2022) – The Wyoming Cowgirl tennis team looks to get back to winning form this Sunday, January 23 as the Cowgirls once against travel to Oklahoma, this time to face off with Northeastern State in a 3 p.m., matchup.
Wyoming (1-4) opened spring play with a tough trip down in the Sooner State, losing a pair of 4-3 matches against Montana State and Louisiana Tech at the Hurricane Invite, before closing with a 6-1 defeat to host-Tulsa. UW closed the opening week with a loss at 19th-ranked Oklahoma.
Noesjka Brink was a bright spot for the Cowgirls in Oklahoma, winning all three of her matches at the invite, extending her spring winning streak to four matches before that was snapped in the loss to the Sooners. Brink has a team-high eight singles and along with partner Mihaela Kaftanova, has a team-best seven doubles' victories.
Sunday's match will be an exhibition for the RiverHawks, who enter play with a 2-0 mark, with both matches coming in the fall. Sunday will be the fifth match of seven to open spring play for the Cowgirls away from home.
