Coeur d'Alene, Idaho (Sept. 20, 2021) – Wyoming Cowgirl Golf had a solid second day of competition at the Coeur d'Alene Collegiate Invitational which saw them move up into tenth place in the 17-team field. Meghan Vogt highlighted the day by finishing tied for 16^th after two rounds of play.
 
 
"That was a really fun round to watch Meghan play. I'm very proud of her to lead the team and have one of the low rounds of the day in tough conditions." Head Women's Golf Coach Josey Stender said "We had a shaky start but the girls all really rallied to maintain and move up a bit. Now that we are more comfortable on the course we are looking for a solid, strong finish tomorrow."
 
Vogt had a terrific day for the Cowgirls scoring par or better on 17 of the holes she played, including three birdies, finishing with a career best round score of 70 (-1) to move up into a tie for 16^th overall. Samantha Hui finishes the second day tied for 28^th after shooting a second round of 78 (+7). Jessica Zapf improved on her first-round score of 77 (+6) by shooting a 76 (+5) today as she finished the day tied for 48^th. Kyla Wilde and Morgan Ryan capped off day two tied for 56^th and 79^th respectively. 
 
The Cowgirls improved upon their first day team score by five strokes shooting a team total of 300 (+16) in the second round. They moved into tenth place overall trailing ninth place Nevada by only two strokes with one round left to play. Oral Roberts and Sacramento State are currently tied for first place at 586 (+18).
 
Playing as an individual, Michelle Nguyen shot a second round of 85 (+14) and is currently tied for 88^thheading into the final round of play tomorrow.
 
The tournament will conclude tomorrow with the final round set to tee off at 7:45 at the Coeur d'Alene resort golf course.
