LARAMIE, Wyo. — The University of Wyoming Track & Field teams will compete at the Doug Max Invitational hosted by Colorado State in Fort Collins, Colo., on Saturday April 3rd in the third outdoor meet of the season.
The Cowboys and Cowgirls are coming off of the Spank Blasing Invite where they set, or improved on, ten new marks on the UW All-Time Top 10 Event List. In addition to being ranked nationally, there are a plethora of Cowboys towards the top of the Mountain West in their respective events.
At the one spot in the conference are Cowboys, Christopher Henry in the 5,000M, Kareem Mersal in the Long Jump, Colton Paller in the Discus, Albert Steiner in the 3,000M Steeplechase and Kirk Unland in the Hammer. Right there in second so far this season is Seth Bruxvoort in the 3,000M Steeplechase, Hap Frketich in the Hammer, Brandon McGuire in the 400M Hurdles, Colton Paller in the Shot Put and William Nolan is the two spot in both the Long Jump and Triple Jump.
Cowgirls near the top in the conference include Mary Carbee with the second best mark in the Hammer. Sadie McMullen and Shayla Howell at two and four, respectively, in the Long Jump. Anna Gillis ranks five in the Hammer, while Aumni Ashby (Triple Jump), Addison Henry (Shot Put), and the 4x100 Relay team of Ashby. Camille Foster, Howell and Kiona Gibbs all rank 6th.
The Doug Max Invitational gets started at 10am on Saturday morning with the men's Hammer and the women's 1,500M. The full schedule can be seen below.
