The Cowboys clashed with Sacramento State in the quarterfinals yesterday morning. Wyoming made quick work of the Hornets, winning 5-0. McCullough and Workman logged the most impressive victories, winning 8&7 and 7&6 respectively.
"San Francisco and Marquette are good wins for us, teams that are ranked higher than us," UW head coach
Joe Jensen said. "I'm proud of the guys, they played hard, and they grinded it out in bad conditions. That's how match play goes. It was a great test and an amazing golf course. We'll play Stanford in a couple weeks so this is a good opportunity to play in this region and in these conditions."
The Dons are ranked No. 51 in the current golfstat rankings. Marquette is ranked No. 38. McCullough and Workman each went undefeated over the tournament.
The Cowboys have two weeks off before traveling to San Francisco, Calif., for The Goodwin running March 29-31. The event, hosted by Stanford University, will be played at TPC Harding Park.
