TUCSON, Ariz. – Wyoming men's golf played the remainder of its second round on Monday morning before completing the final round of the Arizona NIT in the afternoon, finishing 11th with a team score of 862 (-2). The Cowboys' shot closed out the tournament with their lowest round, carding a 278 (-10).

After finishing the second round in 14th place, the Cowboys climbed back to 10th on Monday afternoon with the fifth-best score of any team in the 16-team field. The 10-under round was the lowest of UW's spring season.

"It's not like we played awful, early this season we just continue to have moments with big numbers," UW head coach Joe Jensen said. "I'm not unhappy at all, there was really good golf there it's just been inconsistent so far. Some poor club choices, just not completely sharp. We just decided to go play good golf today, and went out and did it. Our practice round was exceptional, but that's golf. We just have to work on being more consistent."

Senior Drew McCullough led the way in the third round with a score of 67 (-5), including seven birdies. It was his lowest round this spring, and propelled him to a top-20 overall finish tying for 16th at six under for the tournament.

Senior Arron Lickteig also concluded the event with a strong third-round score, carding a 69 (-3) that included his second eagle of the tournament. The score brought him back to even-par for the tournament where he finished tied for 41st. Lickteig was one of just five players to record two eagles.

Senior Glenn Workman was UW's third player to shoot under par on Monday, recording a round of 70 (-2). He made four birdies and just two bogeys to score his best round of the tournament and bring him to six-over, tying for 67th overall.

Senior Quintin Pope played a clean final round, recording just one birdie and one bogey to shoot even par. His tournament total of 224 (+8) placed him tied for 72nd. Junior John Murdock shot a third-round 78 (+6), bringing his tournament total to 221 (+5). Sophomore Dan Starzinski shot a 75 (+3) on Monday afternoon, which left him tied with Pope and one other player for 64th.

After scoring 290 (+2) and 294 (+6), the Cowboys responded on Monday afternoon, improving on their previous round by 16 strokes. Every UW player except Murdock shot his lowest round on Monday afternoon. The Cowboys combined for three eagles over the two days of golf. Only Santa Clara, with five, notched more.

The Cowboys won't return to competition for more than a month, before traveling to San Francisco, Calif., for The Goodwin running March 29-31. The event, hosted by Stanford University, will be played at TPC Harding Park.
