STILLWATER, Okla. (Jan. 22, 2018) – The Wyoming tennis team (0-1 overall) opened up the dual season with a tough 4-0 loss against the 16th ranked Oklahoma State Cowgirls (3-0 overall) on Monday night.

"Today we really got after it," head coach Dean Clower. "I was proud of our intensity and the way we played. Elisa (Koonik) and Tessa (van Der Ploeg) had a huge win over the 20th ranked doubles team in the country."

In doubles action, OSU jumped out early to the 1-0 lead by taking two of three matches. The pair of Megan McCray and Shir Hornung defeated sophomore Ana Tkachenko and freshman Myiah Scott, 6-4, followed by a 6-4 loss by senior Magdalena Stencel and sophomore Milka Genkova. The highlight of the night came from juniors Tessa van Der Ploeg and Elisa Koonik who beat the 20th-ranked doubles team of Vladica Babic and Sofia Blanco, 7-6 (9-7).
