"Beyond the
milestones, the unique thing about Kayla (Slofkiss) is that she still wants to
come in every day and get better," opened UW head coach Chad Callihan. "It's
great to see her get these accolades, but she does so much more for us besides
put the ball away. The thing I was impressed with this afternoon was when we
established that lead, we would be able to then continue to get momentum which
would help us gain confidence. This UNLV team is very talented, and to play the
way we did against them, I certainly have to give our girls a lot of credit
today. "
Senior Courtney Chacon once again recorded a
double-double as she passed out a match-best 31 assists with ten digs. It was
Chacon's team-leading eighth double-double of the season. Junior Lily Austin recorded eight digs for the Brown and Gold while freshman Madi Fields had seven
