It was a performance for the record books, as freshman running back Brian Hill tallied 387 all-purpose yards to set the school and conference all-time mark in a 45-17 win for the University of Wyoming football team Saturday.

Wyoming (4-5 overall, 2-3 Mountain West) dominated Fresno State (3-6 overall, 2-2 MW) on the ground and through the air, racking up 694 yards of total offense. The Pokes converted 10-of-15 third-down conversions to possess the ball for nearly 37 minutes. The win broke a four-game losing streak for the Cowboys and was the first conference road win for UW since Sept. 21, 2013.

The rookie Hill posted five runs of 20 or more yards en route to the school's second-best rushing performance (281 yards) and added 106 receiving yards. He bested the previous MW high of 378 all-purpose yards by Deon Long of New Mexico in 2011 and the UW record of 327 by James Loving vs. Houston in 1987.

The Wyoming defense also had a stellar performance with two interceptions, two sacks and limiting Fresno State to just 149 yards through the air. Redshirt junior cornerback Tyran Finley had two picks, while junior defensive end Eddie Yarbrough had six tackles, one sack and two tackles for loss.

Senior quarterback Colby Kirkegaard was efficient, completing 19-of-28 passes for 320 yards and two touchdowns. Senior wide receiver Jalen Claiborne led the Pokes with six catches, while sophomores Jake Maulhardt and Jacob Hollister each had touchdown grabs.

UW actually went down 7-0 with 13:11 to go in the first quarter before methodically driving for three-straight TDs to lead 21-7 in the second quarter. Fresno State added a field goal with 46 seconds left in the half to trail 21-10, but UW posted 24-unanswered to seal the win.

Wyoming has a short week until its next game, a Friday night skirmish with Utah State. Kickoff is slated for 6 p.m. from War Memorial Stadium.
