University of Wyoming freshman forward Kaitlyn Lomsnes notched two goals in the 11th and 88th minutes to lead the Cowgirls to a 2-0 victory over Fresno State on Friday evening at the Bulldogs Stadium in Fresno, Calif. Lomsnes' eight goals this season now rank eighth in Cowgirl single-season history. Wyoming (8-6-1, 6-1-0 MW) has won four-straight contests, just two shy of the longest winning streak in school history.

"It was a very physical match tonight," UW head coach Pete Cuadrado said. "I'm proud of the team's effort and energy and how they left it all out on the field."

Lomsnes found the early tally in the 11th minute with a shot from the top of the box off a pass from freshman forward Kayla Cryer. In the 88th minute Lomsnes iced the game with a shot down the middle of the box.

UW's defense held off Fresno State, as the Bulldogs outshot the Cowgirls 15-9. Lomsnes led the Cowgirls with six shots with five on goal and freshman forward Candace Sciberras followed with two shots with one on goal. Senior goalkeeper Alex Boehm had nine saves for her third shutout on the season and seventh of her career.

The Cowgirls next match is on Sunday against San Jose State in the Spartan Stadium at 1 p.m. MT.
