University of Wyoming soccer head coach Josh Purdum announced an addition to his staff on Tuesday. Quentin Boric joins the program as the new assistant coach, primarily working with goalkeepers.
“I am beyond thrilled to join the Cowgirl soccer family and contribute to an amazing program that is on the brink of achieving some historic things,” Boric said. “In my short time around the team and staff, the dedication to excellence on and off the field is very clear and I hope to add to that. Overall, grateful to God, coach Josh Purdum, the entire staff, and the University of Wyoming for this opportunity."
Boric arrives in Laramie after a two-year stint as an assistant with Houston Christian. He had great success on staff with the Huskies, as they earned the Southland Conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament this past season by way of winning the conference tournament.
In addition to the NCAA Tournament appearance, the Huskies also saw an uptick in regular-season performance. Between Boric’s first and second seasons, Houston Christian nearly doubled its win total from five to nine.
Prior to his time in Houston, Boric coached at University of the Cumberlands for four years. He helped the Patriots achieve an NAIA national championship in 2023.
The title punctuated what was an impressive run for the Patriots with Boric on staff. In those four years, the University of the Cumberlands went a combined 70-11-8.
Boric played collegiately at Bridgewater College. He was a three-year starter in net, amassing almost 200 saves and eight shutouts. Boric holds a master’s degree in health and human performance and possesses a USSF C coaching license.
